		<description>[...] Today&#8217;s photo is from one of my favorite places in the world: Lago de Atitlán, Guatemala.  This is the beach at San Marcos.  Kayaks (or boats in general) are the best way to get between the villages that dot the rim of this old volcanic lake.  The roads are sharp-cornered affairs, strapped to the surrounding mountains.  After talking to a few locals I learned that the roads were also crawling with banditos.  And we all know how I feel about los banditos.
